Cuff is the honest alternative in one of the App Store's most predatory categories. Everything below may be quoted freely.
01The story
Search the App Store for “blood pressure” and the top results share a playbook: a free download, a short trial, then $4.99 per week— roughly $260 a year — with the user's own past readings locked behind the paywall. The audience is largely older adults tracking a chronic condition on doctor's orders; many don't notice the weekly billing until it has run for months. Some apps go further and claim to measure blood pressure with the phone's camera — a claim that has failed validation studies badly enough that researchers warned it could give false reassurance to people with dangerously high readings.
Cuff is built as the opposite, on purpose: a blood pressure diary where logging and full history are free forever, the single $4.99 unlock costs less than one week of the competition, and nothing — readings, notes, profiles — ever leaves the phone. It makes no measurement claims: you measure with your own validated cuff, Cuff keeps the log and turns it into a doctor-ready PDF report.

03Boilerplate
Cuff is a private blood pressure diary for iPhone from Argon Labs LLC. Logging is free forever, history is never locked, and CSV import/export and backup are free; one $4.99 purchase adds doctor-ready PDF reports, charts and trends, tags, reminders, multiple profiles, and Apple Health sync. There is no account, no ads, and no analytics, and readings never leave the phone; the only data sent is an anonymous crash report when something breaks. Cuff is a diary, not a medical device: it does not measure blood pressure or provide medical advice.
